“
Education at Illinois truly offers the best mix of academic challenge, hands-on teaching experiences, and a community that feels like family. I chose to attend Illinois because of its strong reputation in education and the many supportive opportunities it provides for future teachers, both in the classroom and through research and community involvement.”

Jess Robbins
Jess teaches fourth grade at Unity West Elementary School in Tolono, Illinois. It was during a professional development session that she first heard about trauma-informed education practices. From that moment, Jess knew it was something she was passionate about. She initially pursued a graduate certificate, but when the Trauma-Informed Practices & Pedagogy (TIPP) online Ed.M. became available from the College, she signed up immediately. The flexibility of the online degree option allowed her to keep teaching and practice her new skills in real time. This spring, Jess became the first-ever graduate of the TIPP program.
